How we picked these 2-burner gas stoves

We scored every stove on five weighted criteria: burner performance & efficiency (30%), build quality & durability (25%), safety, warranty & after-sales (20%), ease of use & cleaning (15%) and value for money (10%). Burner grade (solid forged brass beats brass-tipped beats alloy), flame quality, top material and thickness, and real owner reviews all feed the score.

Every pick is ISI/BIS-compatible and rated 4.0★ or higher on Amazon.in. Auto-ignition 2-burner variants were excluded on purpose — the ones we tested rated below 4.0 because the spark/battery mechanism is a common failure point, so every stove here is the more reliable manual ignition.

Our new No.1. Sujata throws the kitchen sink at this one — 5G forged jumbo brass burners, Italian SABAF valves, 8mm toughened glass, a 360° rotating nozzle, LPG/PNG flexibility and a class-leading 9-year warranty. Once warranty and after-sales are weighted properly, its best-in-field flame and longest cover put it on top. The catches: it's the priciest here, the knobs can nudge on too easily, and cleaning around them is fiddly.

PROS
5G forged jumbo brass burners with Italian SABAF valves for a powerful precise flame
Industry-leading 9-year warranty
8mm ultra-thick toughened glass top feels reassuringly solid
LPG and PNG compatible with a 360° rotating nozzle and a free conversion kit

CONS
Most expensive stove here yet still manual ignition
Knobs can be nudged on accidentally while cleaning
Cleaning around the knobs and heavy glass is fiddly
Isolated reports of burner-stand corrosion and one glass-crack complaint

The best all-round pick for serious home cooks who want the strongest flame and the longest protection — 5G forged jumbo brass burners with Italian SABAF valves and a class-leading 9-year warranty. Ideal if you have (or plan to move to) a PNG connection, since it ships LPG/PNG-ready with a conversion kit. Skip it if you want the lowest price or auto-ignition.

The toughest-built stove here — a genuinely premium 2mm stainless-steel body with a 5-year warranty plus lifetime body cover, and the field's highest rating at 4.4. CONS

WHO SHOULD BUY IT
Buy this if ruggedness matters most — a genuinely premium 2mm stainless-steel body with a 5-year product warranty plus lifetime body cover and the highest rating here (4.4). Best for heavy daily use and homes that prefer steel over glass. Just register the warranty and keep your invoice, since the service network is thin.

Faber installation and after-sales service is widely praised
5-year warranty on the burners and valve

Width

The Svachh Neo's headline trick — liftable burners over a deep spill-collecting tray — is its real strength, and owners single out how easy it is to keep spotless. The trade-offs are a premium price for a 2-burner, some low-flame complaints, and reports of burner corrosion over time.

PROS
Liftable burner set and deep Svachh spill tray make cleaning effortless
Brass burners for durable efficient performance
Sturdy pan support keeps vessels steady
Elegant toughened-glass finish from a trusted brand
Compact 46 cm footprint suits smaller kitchens
CONS
Expensive for a 2-burner manual stove
Some owners report low flame on both burners
Reports of burner corrosion within a year
The liftable assembly height can feel awkward
WHO SHOULD BUY IT
Buy this if easy cleaning is your top priority — the liftable burners over a deep spill tray let you wipe the whole glass top in one stroke. Its compact 46 cm footprint also suits smaller kitchens. Weigh the premium price and some low-flame and corrosion reports against the cleaning convenience.

Toughened black glass top combines looks with easy cleaning
Tri-pin and jumbo brass burners with a spill-proof design

Pricier than basic all-glass 2-burner stoves
Low-flame simmer control flagged by an early reviewer
WHO SHOULD BUY IT
A sturdier-feeling stainless-steel-bodied Prestige with a toughened glass top and tri-pin brass burners. A sound mid-range choice for buyers who want metal sturdiness with a glass look from a trusted brand. It has few reviews so far, and a couple of owners wanted stronger jumbo-burner output.

How to choose the right one

Glass top vs stainless steel — which body should you pick?

Toughened-glass tops (most stoves here) look sleek, wipe clean in seconds and resist stains, but a thin top can heat up near the burner and, rarely, crack — go for 6-8mm glass. Stainless-steel bodies (Vidiem, and the SS-bodied Prestige Marvel Plus) feel sturdier and shrug off knocks, but show water spots and need a little more scrubbing. If looks and easy daily cleaning matter most, choose glass; if you want maximum ruggedness, choose a stainless-steel body.

Brass burners are worth paying for

Brass burners conduct heat efficiently, give an even blue flame and last for years — they're the mark of a good stove. Cheaper aluminium-alloy burners can corrode and give patchy flames. Almost every stove we recommend uses brass burners; premium picks like the Sujata use forged jumbo brass with Italian SABAF valves for the strongest, most controllable flame.

Manual vs auto-ignition

Every stove that cleared our quality bar is manual ignition (you light it with a lighter or matchstick). That's deliberate: on Amazon.in the auto-ignition 2-burner variants we tested rated below 4.0, because the battery/spark mechanism is a common failure point and is awkward to service. A good lighter costs ₹50 and never breaks — for a 2-burner, manual is the more reliable choice.

Check the warranty — and what it covers

Warranty length varies wildly here, from 1 year (Milton, GREENCHEF) to 9 years (Sujata) and even a lifetime body warranty (Vidiem). Read the fine print: the parts that fail are burners, valves and knobs, so a stove like the Faber (5 years on burners & valve) or Sujata (9 years) protects you where it counts. Always register the warranty and keep your Amazon invoice.

Size and burner spacing

A 2-burner stove ranges from compact ~46cm (Prestige Svachh Neo) to a wide 70cm (Faber, Sujata). Wider stoves space the burners further apart so two large kadais or pressure cookers don't clash — ideal if you cook elaborate meals. Compact models suit small kitchens and singles/couples. Measure your platform before buying, and if you upgrade from a bigger old stove, expect a glass 2-burner to feel smaller.

Cleaning: spill trays and liftable burners

Spills are inevitable. Look for spill-proof tops with drip trays (Glen, Prestige IRIS) so liquid doesn't reach the gas tubes. The cleaning champion is the Prestige Svachh Neo, whose burners lift up over a deep tray so you can wipe the whole glass top in one stroke. A wipe-clean glass surface plus a removable drip tray will save you the most effort day to day.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best 2 burner gas stoves in India? +
Our top pick is the Sujata Premium 2 Burner glass-top. It pairs 5G forged jumbo brass burners with Italian SABAF valves for the best flame in this field, an 8mm ultra-thick toughened glass top and a class-leading 9-year warranty, and it ships LPG/PNG-ready with a conversion kit. It is the most expensive here and still manual ignition, but for serious cooks it is the most complete stove on this list.
Which is better: glass top or stainless steel gas stove? +
Toughened-glass tops (most stoves here) look sleek, wipe clean in seconds and resist stains, but a thin top can heat up near the burner and rarely crack — choose 6-8mm glass. Stainless-steel bodies like the Vidiem S2 234 A feel sturdier and shrug off knocks, but show water spots and need a little more scrubbing. Pick glass for looks and easy daily cleaning; pick a stainless-steel body for maximum ruggedness.
Are brass burners better than aluminum burners? +
Yes. Brass burners conduct heat efficiently, give an even blue flame and resist corrosion, so they last for years, while cheaper aluminium-alloy burners can corrode and give patchy flames. Almost every stove we recommend uses brass; premium picks like the Sujata use forged jumbo brass with Italian SABAF valves for the strongest, most controllable flame.
What glass thickness is safe for gas stoves? +
Look for a 6-8mm toughened glass top — that is the quality standard on the stoves we recommend (the Glen Apex uses 6mm, the Sujata an 8mm ultra-thick top). Toughened glass is safe for everyday cooking; cracking is rare and usually caused by thermal shock (a wet or cold vessel on a hot top) or a manufacturing flaw. Never pour cold water on a hot surface, and inspect the unit on delivery.
Do I need ISI certification for gas stoves? +
Yes — ISI/BIS certification means the stove meets Indian safety standards for LPG appliances, so always verify the ISI mark on the product and packaging. Every stove we recommend that lists certification is ISI certified (Sujata, Vidiem, Glen, Prestige, Sunflame, Milton). Avoid uncertified stoves regardless of price.
How long do 2 burner gas stoves typically last? +
A quality brass-burner stove that is cleaned regularly should last 5-10 years. Several owners of budget models like the GREENCHEF and Sunflame report 2-3+ years of trouble-free use. Wipe spills promptly, keep the burner ports clear, and get burners or valves serviced under warranty when the flame weakens — which is why a longer cover like the Sujata's 9 years or Vidiem's lifetime body warranty matters.
Can I convert LPG gas stove to PNG (pipeline gas)? +
Often yes, but only if the manufacturer offers conversion. Many stoves here (Sujata, Glen, Milton in some cases) can be converted to PNG, usually as a paid service through the brand's authorised technician — the Sujata even includes a conversion kit, while a few stoves do not support conversion at all. Never attempt a DIY conversion; it is dangerous and voids the warranty. If you have PNG, confirm conversion availability before buying.
Should I buy a manual or auto-ignition 2-burner stove? +
For a 2-burner, manual ignition is the more reliable choice. The auto-ignition variants we evaluated on Amazon.in rated below 4.0 because the spark/battery mechanism is a frequent failure point and is awkward to service. A ₹50 lighter is simpler and never breaks — which is why every stove that cleared our quality bar is manual ignition.
What size 2-burner gas stove should I buy? +
For small kitchens or couples, a compact 46-60cm stove (like the Prestige Svachh Neo at 46cm) is fine. If you regularly use two large vessels at once, pick a wider 66-70cm model — the Faber, Sujata and Glen Apex space the burners far enough apart for two kadais or pressure cookers. Always measure your kitchen platform first, and expect a glass 2-burner to feel smaller if you are upgrading from a bigger old stove.
Why is the small burner's flame hard to control at low or simmer setting? +
Weak low-flame control is a common complaint on budget glass stoves (including the Prestige IRIS) and usually comes down to valve or jet calibration. If simmer control is critical for you — boiling milk or slow gravies — favour stoves with precision valves like the Vidiem or the SABAF-equipped Sujata.
Does a more expensive gas stove cook better? +
Not always. Premium stoves buy you better build materials, longer warranties and stronger valves — the Sujata's SABAF forged-brass burners genuinely cook well — but a ₹3,199 Glen Apex with brass burners cooks nearly as well for everyday use. Pay more for durability and after-sales peace of mind, not just the flame.
